50 Cent Ordered to Pay an Extra $2 Million in Sex Tape Lawsuit

The Associated Press reports that a jury in New York made the decision on Friday – two weeks after jurors ordered the rapper, born Curtis Jackson III, to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston – bringing the total cost to a sum of $7 million.
Jackson's attorney James S. Renard, told PEOPLE in a statement: "Although we appreciate the jury's service, we are disappointed in the result."
He added: "Our client intends to file post-verdict, pre-judgment motions which we believe should reduce the size of the award. Ultimately, the fate of any obligation to pay a final judgment will be determined by the bankruptcy court."
Levinston's attorney argued that Jackson posted a 13-minute sex tape that she made with her then boyfriend in 2008, in the invasion-of-privacy lawsuit. Jackson can be heard narrating the video, taunting his rival Rick Ross, who has a child with Leviston.
Earlier this week, Jackson had played down his lavish lifestyle in court – despite having filed for bankruptcy protection in Connecticut.
Leviston's attorney had argued that she be awarded $15 million in damages – while Renard asked jurors that she be paid $700,000.
