Taking the stage at BET Network's Upfront on Wednesday night, Alicia Keys, 35, reminded the room that hers is a voice to be reckoned with.
Keys took to the stage at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, telling the crowd "I feel like I'm performing for my family in my living room."
The singer opened the set with her cover of Prince's hit "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore", paying homage to the ailing the singer.
Then the "Fallin'" singer launched into a haunting, sweeping new ballad "Hallelujah" off of her upcoming project and the crowd erupted in cheers.
The song debut comes on the heels of Keys announcing to fans she'd soon be back. "I've been dying to share some news with you for a while," she said during an Apr. 16 post on Snapchat. "I have new music to share with you and I'm gonna be performing in the next couple of weeks."
On May 7, the singer will be taking her talents to Saturday Night Live. "That's right," she said on Snapchat. "I'll be performing my new music in my hometown city…on an iconic New York stage."
She'll also be rocking the house at this year's BET Awards in Los Angeles this June, as the network announced Keys as the show's first performer.
And as if the singer and mother of two (she has sons Egypt, 4 and Genisis, 13 months with husband Swizz Beatz) won't be busy enough, she'll be coaching upcoming talent on the next season of The Voice alongside fellow new coach Miley Cyrus.
Talk about coming back with a vengeance.
