It may be in the early stages still, but it sounds like the Trainwreck star, 34, is seriously smitten. "Amy is so, so happy," a source told PEOPLE. "She calls him her boyfriend and says he constantly tells her how pretty, sexy and perfect she is. She feels like she hit the jackpot."
We gathered five things you need to know to get to know Schumer's beau. Fingers crossed they'll make their red-carpet debut at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards!
1. He's already met the family
It appears Hanisch, 29, got the thumbs-up from Schumer's sister Kim Caramele (#roadmanager) and brother Jason Stein. The new couple visited the White House with her siblings, where they sat front row to witness President Obama's emotional call for a national "sense of urgency" to limit gun violence. She later took to Twitter, posting a photo collage with the caption "Fam and man at the whitehizzy."

2. He's basically Aidan from Sex and the City
SATC fans all remember Aidan, Carrie Bradshaw's handsome ex who designed and built furniture with his bare hands. Well, meet Ben, a handsome furniture creator from Chicago, who founded his own custom-furniture company The Last Workshop. And he cares about the planet. The University of Utah-educated builder's business uses only 100 percent U.S.-sourced materials. He also previously served as a design consultant for HGTV, according to his LinkedIn.
3. Feelings are mutual
Hanisch gushed about his girlfriend and seems like he's falling for Schumer just as much as she is. To kick off 2016, he posted a photo of the couple on his Instagram, writing, "Sometimes in life you get extremely lucky, and the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman comes along when you least expect it. Here's to what adventures 2016 brings!"
4. He knows how to take a joke (we hope!)
Schumer also took her comedy to the comment section on many of her boyfriend's lovey-dovey photos. On one post, showing Caramele's dog Abbott on the jet, the Golden Globe-nominated star quipped, "I'm pregnant." On another, she wrote, "I'm pregnant I didn't know how else to tell you."
5. He's got some stiff competition
"Well the word is out. It's official. Here's my new boyfriend," Schumer tweeted after news broke of her new romance – along with a photo of President Obama. The Inside Amy Schumer creator and the commander-in-chief are both passionate about stopping gun violence. Schumer has spoken out on the issue alongside her cousin, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, following the July shooting at a Trainwreck screening in Lafayette, Louisiana, that left three dead and nine wounded.
