"I am so excited, but so nervous," Dorfman, 29, told PEOPLE of the release date while attending the Kindred Foundation for Adoption's 2nd Annual Gala in New York this week.
"[The book is] like my first born child!" she jokes, "I am ready for labor, and May 17th is my due date."

"It's the stuff nobody talks about," Dorfman said. "We all talk about a 'happily ever after', [but] most of us don't work out – this is that story."
"The good, bad, psychotic – You name it, it's in there," she continued.
The lawyer is currently "living the single life," she told PEOPLE, adding "I'm not seeing anyone."
