Andra Day continues to prove why Stevie Wonder fell in love with her voice when he first heard it.
The soulful R&B singer recently sat down for an interview with comedian Margaret Cho as part of an installment of Yahoo, Citi and Live Nation's series Backstage with Citi, and PEOPLE has your first look at her performance.
Accompanied by an acoustic guitar, Day, 31, performed a stirring, stripped down version of her Grammy nominated hit "Rise Up". She ended the song with a vamp section where her guitarist continued to jam while she improvised more lines.
"My prayer for this song, I always say, is that it is a song that's healing and that it's encouraging," said Day, whose debut album Cheers to the Fall was released in September. "So, I hope that's what it does for you today."
Day's episode of Backstage with Citi will be released Monday on Yahoo.com/Backstage.
