Watch This Baby Cheetah Get Acquainted with Its Companion Puppy (VIDEO)

Siri is a nine-week-old female cheetah cub who lives at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Australia. She's in good hands there: The zoo is one of the only ones in the world to successfully breed cheetahs.

But Siri had a bit of a rough start: Keepers noticed signs from her mother that the older female might reject her, so keepers stepped in to hand-raise her. But they couldn't do it alone, and that's where Iris steps in.

Iris is a retriever-mastiff puppy, and she's being gradually introduced to Siri for short play sessions two to three times a day to help her learn natural social interaction and hone her instincts. As you can see from this clip, it's been getting mixed results – Siri seems alternately scared and annoyed by Iris – but programs like this have worked at the San Diego Zoo before, so there's a good precedent. We're sure these two will be best friends – with all the inside jokes, slumber parties and hair-braiding that entails, presumably – in no time.
