"Thanks Kaitlyn!" new Bachelor Higgins says with a laugh. "It's not something you expect to be brought up. I don't think it was something my grandma or my mom didn't expect or were shocked by, but it was weird!"
Continues Higgins: "I have to thank Kaitlyn for taking the opportunity to ask me that on national television. So now my grandma knows for certain!"
Still, the 26-year-old software accounts manager says that when it comes to intimacy, open dialogue is crucial.

"I don't think many topics should be taboo, especially sex," says Higgins. "Those conversations should exist in a relationship, especially when it comes to your expectations, limits and boundaries."
"I want to make sure I keep those communications between us," he says. "There are some conversations that only need to happen between the two people involved in a relationship!"
The new season of The Bachelor premieres January 4 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
