Take a tip from the Obamas: Squeeze in some summer fun now before it's all over!

The president announced Thursday that he'd be taking off a day earlier than expected to make his 15-day vacation a 16-day affair, arriving at Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, Friday evening just before 7 p.m. EST.

A motorcade carrying the First Family dropped them off at the same 8,000-sq.-ft. house they rented last year in the Chilmark neighborhood. The property, which has seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a basketball court and an infinity pool, is worth around $12 million, according to Martha's Vineyard Times.

Last year's was a more modest choice than the home they rented in 2013, which is currently on the market for $22.5 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. Also in Chilmark, the property has a private road and sits on more than nine acres. Though it has fewer bedrooms at just four, the master suite has a study, his and hers bathrooms, a fireplace and a private deck. The house boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and a gym, and the grounds include an infinity pool, a basketball court, a guesthouse and five outdoor showers.

Why Does President Obama Have Royal Envy?

The Obamas have vacationed on Martha's Vineyard every summer of his presidency apart from 2012, when he was busy with his re-election campaign.

Prior to that, the family stayed at Blue Heron Farm, but the couple who later purchased the residence – British architect Lord Norman Foster and his wife Lady Elena Foster – for $21.9 million in 2011 were not interested in renting it out, according to Boston.com. That property is 30 acres, and when it was purchased by the British couple, it included two full-sized homes, a boathouse and a 150-year-old barn brought in from Pennsylvania and reassembled.
