Built on 12 acres of land and surrounded by gardens, the Hotel Bel-Air is "where the rich and famous go to hide," as the hotel's homepage puts it. Once frequented by stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Judy Garland, the hotel features 12 bungalow suites with a guarded private entrance, where Affleck has often stayed over the years.
Affleck and Garner's ex-nanny Christine Ouzounian has told friends that she and Affleck had romantic rendezvous at the Bel-Air. Affleck has denied having an affair with the 28-year-old. Ouzounian was spotted entering the Hotel Bel-Air solo on Wednesday, while Affleck remains in Atlanta, where he has been spending time with Garner and their three kids.
During the months before Affleck and Garner announced their plans to divorce, the actor was seen at the hotel several times. He also stayed there following his 2003 split from Jennifer Lopez and during the early days of his relationship with Garner, and visited on and off in recent years.
"He's been to the Bel-Air," says the source close to Affleck. "It's not a secret hotel for him."
The hotel, which is owned by the Sultan of Brunei, has been boycotted by many stars due to the leader's implementation of Sharia law in his home country.
