Fans across the world are paying tribute to Prince – and the stars of Broadway are among those singing the late singer's praises.

Led by Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda, the castmembers of the mega-hit musical gathered for a dance party to "Let's Go Crazy" on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, a heartbroken Jennifer Hudson addressed the audience of The Color Purple before the cast performed a moving rendition of "Purple Rain" to end their show.

"I did not expect to have to speak tonight but God has his way," Hudson told the crowd. "Today we lost a legend. We lost a legend, who was a good friend of mine. Prince, who was dear to all of us. "

Hudson continued: "He will live through his music so we want to keep him alive today with this song."

Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of death for the 57-year-old Prince, who was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota early Thursday morning. Around 9:45 a.m. a call was made to the sheriff's department requesting medical attention at the home. Less than 25 minutes later Prince was pronounced dead.
