It unclear how long the mother of two will be staying in the facility, but it follows a difficult time for the actress after her ex husband Charlie Seen publicly revealed that he is HIV-Positive.
Following Sheen's revelation two months ago, Mueller broke her silence to announce she and their sons are not HIV-positive.
"Brooke has been inundated with calls from friends and family," her spokesperson Steve Honig told PEOPLE at the time. "To put their minds at ease, Brooke can confirm that she and the boys are not HIV-positive."
Another source close to Mueller, 38, said she "is in treatment on her own accord. She needed to leave Los Angeles for a while ... to get some peace and quiet."
A source told PEOPLE in November last year that Sheen now needs to sell Mueller's house where she lives with their 6-year-old twin sons Max and Bob, who are currently living with their grandparents.
Sheen, 50, and Mueller ended their tumultuous marriage in 2011 but have been public about their amicable relationship.
It is not the first that Mueller has sought help, in December 2011, she entered herself into a "long-term, in-patient treatment center" following a recent arrest for alleged cocaine possession and assault.
