A fun summertime activity turned sour on Wednesday when a man robbed a lemonade stand set up by two 13-year-old girls in Rancho Cucamonga, California, according to the Associated Press.

The suspect, who made off with $30 from Julie Jacobs and Chase Anderson, was arrested and jailed shortly after the incident, San Bernardino County authorities told Southern California's NBC4 News.

The girls said the man, identified as 18-year-old Santini Tate, approached the stand and asked for a glass of lemonade but told them he had no money.

After Anderson and Jacobs, who were joined by their brothers, gave Tate a glass, he walked away. Tate then quickly turned back around, pushed over the stand and fled with the money box, police say.

"There were people stopping. There were people turning around because they wanted lemonade and it just happened," Anderson told NBC4.

Authorities told the AP that Tate was apprehended moments later with the entire contents of the cash box.
