Take me out to the ballgame, take me out to the … heartwarming viral video?

Diana Armendariz attended an Oct. 12 football game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Washington Redskins in Glendale, Arizona, and pulled out her camera when it was announced during the first half that a U.S. Airman had a surprise for one of the Cardinals cheerleaders.

Sure enough, 26-year-old Air Force Captain Erick Straub (clad in his flight suit) popped the question to Cardinals cheerleader Claire Thornton, 24, who answered with a resounding "Yes," much to the delight of the stadium's crowd – they burst into touchdown-worthy applause.

The icing on the cake? Arizona, perhaps energized by the true love in their midst, beat Washington 30-20.

"It was pretty amazing,'' Thornton told TODAY.com. "The best part about everything is that my whole family was there and his whole family was there, and I was doing what I love with the people that I love. It was the epitome of the best day ever.''
