No, this isn't the plot of a Disney movie – at least not yet. But, somewhere, a screenwriter is probably getting ready to type the opening scene.

Bob Marley's daughter Cedella is helping the Jamaican national women's soccer team raise money so it can go to the 2015 Women's World Cup, Rolling Stone reports.

The Reggae Girlz (as they call themselves) have launched a fundraising campaign on Indigogo, hoping to raise up to $50,000 for "coaching, housing, proper nutrition and proper training" to carry the team through the next round of qualifying.

Marley has lent her talents – and her family's name – to the team, offering everything from an exclusive song ("Strike Hard") to House of Marley earbuds to Marley-brand coffee as incentives for potential donors.

Marley's efforts as the Reggae Girlz' official ambassador are impressive, and so is the team: It won its first two qualifying matches by a combined score of 21-0. (You read that right).

And though the Jamaica Football Federation has high hopes for the team, limited funding options mean that that the women are "not able to institute the elements that other world-class female soccer programs consider to be fundamental, like traveling to play in practice matches [or] proper training camp accommodations."

The team has raised more than $18,000 so far but still has a long way to go. Hopefully, the appeal of the Marley family will help it reach its goals.

The Reggae Girlz are counting on it.
