At the Billboard Music Awards on May 22, the singer will be honored with the Icon Award, the ultimate honor at the awards show celebrating a lifetime of achievement.
Dion – who will also be performing a special rendition of Queen's "The Show Must Go On" at the show – is only the fifth artist to receive this specific award, and others in the past have included Neil Diamond, Jennifer Lopez, Prince and Stevie Wonder.
"Céline Dion has a huge repertoire of monster hits and she personally chose to perform "The Show Must Go On" as her Icon performance on the Billboard Music Awards. I think at this moment in her life, the song has many meanings," says producer Mark Bracco. "It is an amazing choice."
The 2016 Billboard Music Awards – hosted by Ludacris and Ciara – airs live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 22 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
