After slamming the GOP front-runner in a very special tweet last month, the former Two and a Half Men star has had a change of heart – and now wants to be the Donald's running mate.
To add an extra dose of randomness to the equation, we have Owen Wilson to thank for Sheen's sudden interest in politics.
In a new interview with The Daily Beast Wilson declared Trump the Charlie Sheen of politics, saying, "You can't help but get a kick out of [Trump], and I think part of it is we're so used to politicians on both sides sounding like actors at press junkets – it's sort of by rote, and they say all the right things. So here's somebody who's not following that script. It's like when Charlie Sheen was doing that stuff – like, wow! He's answering a question completely honestly, and in an entertaining way."
Sheen took the comment to heart and responded on Thursday by tweeting:
dear O. Wilson they took ur comment out of context! I'm honored! thank u! If Trump will hv me I'd be his VP in a heartbeat! © #TrumpSheen16— Charlie Sheen (@charliesheen) August 27, 2015
Sheen's Twitter campaign is just the latest sign that Trump is sucking up all the oxygen in this election season – a fact that Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton tried on Friday to hang around the whole Republican party's neck, saying, "The party of Lincoln has become the party of Trump."
With Sheen in the mix, maybe it can also be the party of "tiger blood" and "Adonis DNA".
Plus, "Winning" would make a pretty perfect campaign slogan.
