Charlie Sheen Pulls a Knife on His Dentist: Report

On Sept. 25, the actor, 49, suddenly became belligerent when a dental technician administered nitrous oxide to him before the procedure, police sources told TMZ.
Sheen allegedly struck the dental technician and also pulled a knife on his personal dentist, who was in the room with the oral surgeon. Sheen's bodyguard reportedly told the dentist that the actor was high on rock cocaine at the time, according to TMZ.
However, Sheen's publicist Jeff Ballard tells PEOPLE that there was no illegal substances or knife involved in the incident, and that Sheen simply had an adverse reaction to drugs administered by the dentist.
"Charlie had a shoulder injury that started back from his days playing baseball. He had some issue with it and was on some meds for that and then he had an abscess in his tooth that was bothering him. He went to a dentist and was given some gas, and apparently had a bad reaction to it because of the meds he was taking for his shoulder. It was just a bad interaction [of drugs] ... There was no knife and illegal substances involved."
Ballard says Sheen has been taking antibiotics for the tooth abscess since the dustup at his dentist's office and hopes to be back in the dentist chair later this week to finally take care of the problem.
Ballard also addressed rumors that the Anger Management set was was recently shut down because Sheen injured his face: "He was playing with his dogs in the pool and ended up hitting his nose and getting four or five stitches. We were [not taping the show] for a couple days to let his nose heal because the doctor didn't want to put makeup on a freshly-cut nose. But he went back to work on Monday and Tuesday."
The Los Angeles Police Department confirms to PEOPLE that there is currently an incident involving Charlie Sheen under investigation, but declined to provide details or identify anyone else involved.
