Meeting President Obama for the first time can be really nerve-wracking, just ask Charlize Theron.
The Mad Max: Fury Road actress, 39, confessed to Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that her nerves got the best of her while backstage with the President before her appearance on the show last year.
She said Obama was explaining how much he enjoyed being on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where he could reach a younger demographic. Unsure what to say during a lull, Theron kind of panicked.
"There was this pause, and I didn't know what to say. All I could come up with was, 'Well, if you're looking for a different demographic, I can take you to a strip club.'"
Completely mortified, Theron said Obama was "gracious and funny" and could tell she was super nervous about the blunder. Unfortunately, his kindness didn't make her feel any better.
"I couldn’t sleep for four weeks because every time I closed my eyes I went ‘Oh my God I said that! Oh my God why did I say that?”
Kimmel responded "Well, that's a pretty great thing to say to the President. You should say that to all the presidents as they go on."
He even joked that some presidents might have taken her up on the offer. "If you'd said that to President Clinton you'd probably still be at that."
