Star-Lord to the rescue!

Chris Pratt paid a visit to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles on Wednesday, cheering up young patients with a special screening of Guardians of the Galaxy.

The hospital Tweeted a photo of the actor dressed as his action alter ego, Peter Quill, laughing with a boy wearing his character's signature leather jacket.

"Thanks for making them smile!" the Tweet read.

Pratt, 35, made good on a promise to Panzer TV in July, when he explained why he stole his costume from the set.

"If it was a big enough movie, to where it would mean something to a kid who's sick in the hospital for Peter Quill or Star-Lord to come visit them, I'll do that," he said. "I think that's awesome, man."

The proud dad recently told PEOPLE about spending time in the hospital with his own little boy, Jack, who was born nine weeks premature in August 2012 and was in intensive care for a month.

"It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it," he said. "The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect."
