A prosecution source tells PEOPLE the new charges were filed against McLean on Wednesday – a little less than a month after his arrest on a single domestic violence count against his wife.
The new charges include criminal threatening, terrorizing, criminal restraint, obstruction and criminal mischief, the source says.
McLean, 70, has pleaded not guilty to all seven counts and has a next court hearing scheduled for early April.

McLean was arrested on Jan. 18 in his home in Camden, Maine, following an incident with his wife, Patrisha.
Patrisha, who was granted an order of protection late last month, alleges in court filings that McLean "pressed the palms of his hands against my temples and squeezed as though my head were in a vice." She says that she has suffered from headaches since the alleged incident.
In papers, Patrisha claims her husband has a "violent temper" and has been physical with her throughout much of their marriage. She also alleges McLean has threatened to kill her.
Patrisha later released a statement to the media, saying, "Don is not a monster. This is a very sad time for me and for him."
