Eric Stonestreet Says Modern Family Actresses are Cyberbullied

The cast of Modern Family are known for being hilarious onscreen, but what isn't funny is the cyberbullying they endure off set.

On Thursday, Eric Stonestreet who plays Cameron Tucker on the Emmy-award winning show, revealed that he and fellow castmates endure terrible heckling on social media. He also admitted that the females – Ariel Winter, Sarah Hyland, 25, and Sofia Vergara, 43, – get it way worse than he does.

"It's the girls that get it the hardest, Ariel, on our show, and Sarah and Sofia," Stonestreet told FOX411. "It's rough, and people are really super mean, and they're cowards on social media."

"I don't understand it," the 44-year-old added. "If you won't say it to my face, why would you say it on Twitter and Instagram?"

Winter, 18, is known for being vocal about body image. In February she posted a photo celebrating her breast reduction scars after people criticized her for exposing them on the Golden Globes red carpet.

"Embrace all that you are…Scars & everything," she Instagrammed. "Your imperfections make you perfectly you #loveyourself."

Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m ET on ABC.
