Game of Thrones is upon us.

HBO has released a second trailer for the medieval fantast epic's sixth season, and one thing is clear – there's a lot coming.

"Make no mistake, the dead are coming," Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) declares in the eagerly awaited trailer.

It appears that the latest season of the HBO hit will see many battles, threats and plots of vengeance, along with the return of The Red Wedding's villain Walder Frey (David Bradley).

The two-minute clip packs a lot of footage, showing Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) learning to fight in the House of Black and White, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) returning to the fold after a lengthy absence and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner)) plotting against the Freys and Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon).

In one of the most startling displays of the trailer, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) comes face to face with a captive dragon – after delivering a snarky one-liner of course.

"That's what I do," he says in the trailer, after offering a bit of advice about dragons. "I drink and I know things."

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on April 24.
