Friend and author Kathy Lette tells PEOPLE seeing the newlyweds interact is like "watching a rom-com in front of you."
Lette, who became pals with Amal through her husband Geoffrey Robertson QC, founder and joint head of Doughty Street Chambers, where Amal works as a lawyer, recently had Clooney, 54, and his wife over for dinner and says it's clear to see the two "are mad about each other."

"She's drop-dead gorgeous, your jaw hits the ground, but she's also very charming, funny, self-deprecating," says Lette, adding that fame has not changed Amal one bit. "She's as warm and down-to-earth as ever."
