Former Glee star Mark Salling has been arrested in connection with possession of child pornography, PEOPLE confirms.

"He was taken into custody this morning for possession of child porn," Officer Aareon Jefferson of the Los Angeles Police Department tells PEOPLE.

The actor was arrested at 9 a.m. and booked in downtown L.A. on a $20,000 bail. Crime Watch Daily first broke the news that the LAPD's Internet Crimes Against Children unit obtained a search warrant Tuesday morning for a home in Sunland, California. Officers found hundreds of images on his computer, according to TMZ.

Salling, 33, played jock Noah "Puck" Puckerman on the hit Fox show from 2009-15.

His reps did not return PEOPLE's request for comment.

Salling's court date has been set for Jan. 22, 2016, according to L.A. County Sheriff's Department records. The records also showed that the actor posted bail shortly before 2:30 p.m.

This isn't his first run-in with the law: He paid an ex-girlfriend more than $2.7 million in March after she accused him of knocking her to the ground when she confronted him over an alleged sexual battery, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
