Time to put the champagne on ice.

Hollywood award season stepped in high gear Thursday morning with the announcement of the 2016 Golden Globe nominations.

The Globes – to be presented Jan. 10 – honor acting in film and TV in 25 categories: 14 for movies and 11 for TV.

Ricky Gervais will once again take the stage as the host of the of 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards. The comedian led the Globes for three consecutive years from 2010-12, during which his no-holds-barred approach to the gig earned him a controversial (and celebrated) reputation.

Corinne Fox, the daughter of Jamie Foxx, will serve as Miss Golden Globe 2016.

The 73rd Golden Globes Awards will air live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel's Grand Ballroom on Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Next on deck: the Jan. 14 announcement of the Academy Award nominations, in anticipation of the Feb. 28 Oscar ceremony.
