Music fans will soon get the rare opportunity to see actor Johnny Depp jam onstage alongside rock legends Alice Cooper and Aerosmith's Joe Perry. But be forewarned: It's a very limited engagement.

Hollywood Vampires, a supergroup that also includes former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum, will play only two U.S. shows, both of them at Los Angeles venue The Roxy, on Sept. 16 and 17. Tickets for the event go on sale Friday on Ticketfly. So far, the group's only other scheduled show is a Sept. 24 benefit concert in Brazil.

The band's name, according to Rolling Stone, comes from that of an informal collective of musicians who would meet for drinks on the Sunset Strip in the early '70s. The group included Cooper, John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon, Micky Dolenz and Bernie Taupin.

The debut album by the Hollywood Vampires goes on sale Sept. 11. It features guest appearances by such notables as Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Slash and even the late actor Christopher Lee. Proceeds from the album will benefit the Grammy Awards-affiliated charity MusiCares.

According to a USA Today interview, Cooper said that back in the day there was only one requirement for a rock star to become a member of the group: "To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members," he said.

Depp previously performed alongside Cooper in 2012 in Los Angeles.
