"I'm watching my show. I don't want to miss anything."
"I might be getting sick."
These are among one woman's many ways of telling her husband she didn't feel like having sex on a given night, according to a spreadsheet the husband made tracking their amorous activity between June 1 and July 18. The log – which includes three "yes" nights, italicized triumphantly – was emailed to the wife on Friday while she was on her way to the airport.
Her reaction? Posting it publicly to the relationships subreddit with a note that read in part, "I open it up, and it's a sarcastic diatribe basically saying he won't miss me for the 10 days I'm gone. Attached is a SPREADSHEET of all the times he has tried to initiate sex since June 1st, with a column for my 'excuses.' .... According to his 'document,' we've only had sex 3 times in the last 7 weeks, out of 27 'attempts' on his part."
Though she has since removed the post and the spreadsheet, it elicited quite the reaction on Reddit, with hundreds of strangers weighing in on Reddit alone, and more than 2,000 people commenting on their relationship woes on Deadspin, which picked up the story.
The lesson here? Spreadsheets are a great way to lay out data in an easy-to-understand fashion, obviously.
