Police have confirmed that the body recovered from the Hudson River Monday is Ian Jones, Annie Lennox's daughter's boyfriend.

Jones' mother, Sherron Jones, also confirmed to PEOPLE Tuesday morning that it was her son.

Jones, 32, and the singer's daughter, Tali Lennox-Fruchtmann, 22, had been kayaking Saturday morning when their boat capsized and Jones disappeared.

An autopsy Tuesday also "revealed no injuries or trauma to Mr. Jones' body, and the findings are consistent with drowning," said Dutchess County Sheriff Department's Captain John Watterson in a statement.

"There were no signs of criminal conduct or foul play found, and toxicology tests were performed; however the results of those tests won't be known for several weeks. The search for Mr. Jones has now officially ended, and at this time his death is considered to be an accidental drowning with no criminal charges expected," the statement said.

Watterson tells PEOPLE that as of now, there is no evidence of drugs or alcohol in Jones' system, but the toxicology report is required for confirmation.

Lennox-Fruchtmann, meanwhile, appeared inebriated at the time investigators interviewed her, Watterson tells PEOPLE, and the role of alcohol in the capsizing is "still under investigation."

Sherron Jones told PEOPLE her son has been sober for four years and was very active in the AA community.

Sherron, who is staying near the scene of the accident in Poughkeepsie, New York, is cremating her son and taking his ashes back to her home in Yardley, Pennsylvania, with a memorial service Saturday at their church in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
