Jennifer Garner is becoming more at peace with life after Ben Affleck, but that doesn't mean she's in any rush to enter the dating world.
Garner, 43, has finally found "more breathing room" since splitting from Affleck in June after 10 years of marriage. "She's been able to focus on herself," a family source tells PEOPLE in this week's cover story.
The actress is still working to adjust to her new normal.
"She made an effort to start the year fresh, and she is having a good year so far," says the source. "She doesn't find her private life ideal, but she has accepted it."
But moving forward with her love life is not a top priority at the moment.
"It's hard to picture her dating before the divorce is finalized," adds the source.

And it doesn't seem like Affleck, 43, is in any rush to spark up a new romance either. "Ben is not dating anyone," says an Affleck source.
For now, both Garner and Affleck are continuing to put their differences aside and focus on what's best for their kids. The amicable exes are often seen spending time together with their three children, Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 3.
"They're not [best] friends, but they share in the joy of their children," says an industry source.
As for their pending divorce – they have yet to sign divorce papers, and sources say it could take a long time for the divorce to be finalized – the former couple are taking their time navigating their new lives.
"They are doing it their own way," says a source close to both of them. "And that way works for them right now."
"They're working out the details, but it seems nothing has changed," adds an insider. "They are moving forward with their plans."
