John Robert Charlton, 37, was named by parents Ray and JoAnn in the complaint, a copy of which was obtained by PEOPLE.
"[Charlton] has been known to hold grudges for several years and exposes frustrations when under the influence of alcohol or drugs," the pair wrote in the request for the restraining order.
"These frustrations he displays can be very intimidating and cause fear of violence," they wrote.

Court records show that Charlton has convictions in several states for aggravated robbery, theft, grand theft of a motor vehicle, assault and third-degree larceny.
He is expected to appear in court for the charges related to Lyne's death on April 27th, according to the King County Prosecutor's Office.
PEOPLE's calls to Charlton's lawyer, Gordon Hill, have not been returned as of press time.
