Did Katie Holmes forget to brush?

The star's pearly whites were looking, well, less than pearly white Thursday on the Brooklyn set of her latest film, All We Had, which also marks her directorial debut.

While in character, the Dawson's Creek alum, 36, displayed an incisor that had a distinctly blackish hue – but that didn't stop her from flashing a big grin as she sat behind the wheel of a car.

Holmes' dental makeover isn't the only change the actress has been sporting recently.

The mom to 9-year-old daughter Suri Cruise also chopped her locks into a bob for the new film, which has Holmes portraying a mother on the brink of poverty when she and her 13-year-old daughter are evicted from their California home.

The duo then head east in a beat-up Ford Escort and find a new home in a town full of colorful residents. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by sculptor and painter Annie Weatherwax.
