The 36-year-old actress was in rare form – or rare dress – on Tuesday when she rocked a '90s-style, super-short, strapless denim number (complete with a full-length zipper in the front) for her new flick All We Had, which is being filmed in Queens, New York.
In the movie, the Dawson's Creek star plays the struggling mother of a 13-year-old girl.
The acid-washed, denim number is not the first shocking look the actress has sported for the role. Last week, Holmes debuted a short, chic bob after chopping off her locks for the new film, which also marks her directorial debut.
She also showed off a hilarious gap-toothed grin for the role last week on the Brooklyn set of the film.
In the movie, Holmes portrays a mother who is evicted from her California home along with her teen daughter. The pair then head east in a Ford Escort and find themselves at home among a town of eccentric residents.
The movie is based on the novel of the same name by painter and sculptor Annie Weatherwax.
