Katy Perry's fans are definitely vocal about their love for the singer, and President Barack Obama might just be a card-carrying member of the KatyKats!

Perry, 29, performed at the White House on Thursday as part of a reception for the Special Olympics, and the president gave her a very warm introduction.

"We have just one of my favorite people performing tonight – Katy Perry. We are so grateful to her," Obama said just before the singer, who's in the middle of her Prismatic tour, took the stage to perform songs including "Roar."

But the presidential praise didn't stop there. "I love Katy Perry," he added. "She is just a wonderful person. I just met her mom, now I know why she's such a wonderful person."

And the love is certainly mutual. Perry has been vocal about her support for Obama, even performing at a rally for the president during the 2012 campaign.

Perry wasn't the only high-profile attendee at the event, which marked the 46th anniversary of the first Special Olympics. Other famous guests included Maria Shriver (whose mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founded the Special Olympics), Stevie Wonder, Jason Derulo, and athletes Michelle Kwan, Andy Roddick and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
