A week after 3-month-old Isabelle Amarachi saw her cuteness applauded by the president of the United States, the infant daughter of the actress and her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, was the main topic of discussion during the Scandal star's visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night.
Kimmel, 46, also has a newborn daughter at home, and as parents know, when you've got a newborn, it's hard to talk about anything else.
"Your baby's name is Isabelle and mine is Jane," Kimmel told Washington. "We should swap them and see if our families notice!"
As viewers learned, both baby girls were named after their great-grandmothers.
Elsewhere in the segment, Kimmel praised Washington's postpartum style.
"I can't believe you had a baby and you look like this!" he gushed. "It's against the rules."
Washington, 37, also discussed her relationship with Barack Obama, who called her "a great friend" during a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in July. When pressed by Kimmel, she demurred on the question of whether the Obamas were her BFFs.
"I like them very much, but I feel like that's so presumptuous," she explained. "We're friendly."
Washington finished by explaining that she couldn't just up and text the president – another difference between her and Olivia Pope.
