Troubled reality star Kim Richards was reportedly arrested for shoplifting in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 50, was placed under citizen's arrest on Sunday afternoon, Entertainment Tonight reports. The Van Nuys Police Department tells ET that Richards was booked and spent the night in jail before being released on Monday afternoon on $5,000 bail.

TMZ reports that Richards was detained by a security guard at Target for allegedly trying to carry out items worth more than $600.

The former child actress has battled with sobriety and spent time in rehab twice this year after she was arrested at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel in April and charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.

She addressed her issues with alcohol abuse in an interview last month. "Relapsing was very hard for me," she admitted.

The mother of four said that she welcomed treatment as a break from all the family stress she was dealing with as her ex-husband Monty Brinson battled cancer and her sister Kyle Richards was not speaking to her.

The day before Richards was reportedly arrested, Brinson posted a sobering message on Instagram.

"To my loved ones, my ex's, children, the girls I dated in my past whether it was for a short period or longer, or people that I have only met briefly and the friends that I've never met but communicated with I have a quote for. When you look back on me I hope it puts a smile on your face. Each of you have put a smile on my face this life time thank you," he wrote, adding the hashtags #heart #friends #smile #laughter #love#family #heart #thankful #loved.
