Kris, 60, opened up to Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show after the host opened up a personal line of questioning about the possibility of Caitlyn starting to date men.
"The last time you were here on the show, you were here with Bruce on Valentine's Day," DeGeneres recalled to Kris as the two looked up at a photo of the exes, previously married for 22 years before splitting in 2013. "Now she is Caitlyn. It's confusing because for a while she was not saying whether she was going to date women or men, and now apparently she has said that she's going to date men."
"I saw that too," Kris replied, referencing the recent I Am Cait season 2 trailer in which Caitlyn, 66, says she doesn't see herself "dating women in the future."
Kris admitted that the possibility of Caitlyn dating men is "confusing for sure" to her, but that at the end of the day, she just really wants Caitlyn "to be happy and be really comfortable."
"She says she wasn't her true authentic self for most of her life and knew when she was 4 that she had felt like that," Kris continued. "So you don't want somebody to be miserable or in pain or anything of that."
As for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians matriarch, she's still "getting used" to the situation.
"You know, I am human and I have my feelings but I try and it's baby steps," she said. "It's like the mourning of somebody that you feel you are never going to really see or be with again."

"It's confusing because for as long as you know or anyone knows he was only with women," DeGeneres said of Caitlyn, who has three ex-wives: Chrystie Scott, Linda Thompson and Kris.
"Right, that part I don't understand," Kris admitted.
"Well, I said to her when this first happened, I said, 'You are so excited, you have to wait for the rest of us to catch up – like, we haven't had as many drinks as you!' " Kris added with a smile. "You know what I'm saying? Like when you're at a party and every else is smashed and you're like, just getting started."
