In photos obtained by E! News, the NBA player was seen being driven around in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon. He kept his head down as he rode in the car for the afternoon outing.
The sighting comes just days after a source told PEOPLE he was planning to move from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center – where he was airlifted from a Las Vegas hospital after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel – to a live-in rehabilitation center.
"At the center, Lamar will continue to receive amazing therapy," the source told PEOPLE. "He still has many challenges but is making progress. He is a fighter!"
Odom, 36, cannot yet walk on his own and has suffered from cognitive impairment, speech problems and kidney damage since the health scare.
Odom's estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian – who has visited him throughout his time in the hospital – recently expressed her pride for how hard Odom is fighting for his health.
"I'm so proud of the strength that he has to fight this battle that's his battle and I'm so grateful for everybody's love and concern, because I think it is coming from a good place," Kardashian, 31, said.
