That's the logic that propelled Blaine Gibson during a recent trip to Disney World. The Austin, Texas, man decided that typical tourist photos wouldn't cut it, so he skipped out to Walmart, bought a cheap ring, and tweeted photos of himself proposing to every Disney Princess he could find.
The result? Some princess expressions of surprise, retweets aplenty and a little bit of Internet infamy.
So I brought an engagement ring to Disney World and proposed to my favorite Disney Princesses (Part 1/3) pic.twitter.com/5mUdZLDnJR— Blaine Gibson (@BGibbles) July 21, 2014
In order, that's Ariel, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jasmine, Tinkerbell and ... Gaston. The winner?
They were all super nice and really beautiful. I also proposed to Gaston because that guy was hilarious (part 2/3) pic.twitter.com/kOcgJUfEJF— Blaine Gibson (@BGibbles) July 21, 2014
Yep, it was Tink – even if she's not actually a Disney princess, who are we to stand in the way of love?
I ended up giving the ring to Tink because she was my last princess. She, Rapunzel and Ariel won my heart. (Part 3/3) pic.twitter.com/5ApjcaIbAR— Blaine Gibson (@BGibbles) July 21, 2014
Gibson, a contributor to the Roosterteeth comedy website, explained in a video podcast that he was still holding out hope to become the Prince Eric to Disney World's Ariel actress. (Warning: The podcast has some NSFW language.)
"Man, Ariel was hot. She was really cool. My hope is that when I tweeted [the photo] ... I would hear back," Gibson said. "Sure enough, I found a guy who tweeted me. He said he went to high school with Cinderella ... And I had a Disney employee who was a Roosterteeth fan who said that she found Ariel and was going to give Ariel my Twitter handle."
Blaine, we're rooting for a happily ever after for you and your future princess, whomever she may be.
