Matt Lauer may aim to please, but he'll never be one for fetish wear.
In an interview that airs on Thursday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Today host confronted Ellen DeGeneres over her Fifty Shades prank in which she Photoshopped him into bondage gear.
"I have not yet decided if we are on speaking terms," Lauer, 57, says uncomfortably.
He adds: "I've made a lot a lot of new friends. Thank you very much. So to the people like @RoughAndReady and @IveBeenAVeryBadGirl, I just want to say thank you very much for your kind Tweets."
Lauer went on to say that the prank seemed a little too real for some.
"You can't believe how many people Tweeted me and said, 'You're supposed to be a journalist. How can you dress in leather, especially S&M?' " he says.
But he wasn't the only Today show employee to fall victim to DeGeneres's Photoshop fun. Al Roker was made to deliver the country's weather in tiny leather short-shorts.
Like Lauer, Roker saw a spike in Twitter followers after the clip aired.
"Although Al kind of had those followers anyway," says Lauer, who seemed to find Roker's BDSM makeover much funnier than his own.
