Matthew McConaughey Gives an Inspiring Speech to Texas Longhorns Football Team (VIDEO)

It's like something out of a movie.

Hollywood films have had their fair share of charismatic characters giving rousing pep talks to sports teams. But Matthew McConaughey got to do it for real last Thursday, delivering an inspiring mid-practice speech to the University of Texas football team.

The Oscar-winning Texas native is quite the orator, as his chest-thumping, half-sung speech to Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street proved. But here, he channels a bit of Al Pacino's Any Given Sunday intensity, and even leads the team in some chest-thump-singing.

Despite a promise not to preach, McConaughey can't help it. He urges the Longhorns players to ask themselves, "Why do I play this game? Why am I doing this? Why do I come out to practice? Why am I out here busting my a–– in the middle of the heat every day?"

"I did start preaching, didn't I?" he says, before taking a few questions from the star-struck athletes.
