It's Memorial Day weekend, which means it's time to fire up the grill and get the tunes going – and PEOPLE is here to help you do just that.

New York-based R&B electro duo ASTR (Zoe Silverman and Adam Pallin) – whom we've included in prior playlists – have provided partygoers with a playlist of their own (including Tensnake, Duke Dumont, Tinashe and Chris Brown) of what cool new tracks they'll be spinning this weekend in the hot weather when they take over the turntables at their huge Brooklyn block party BBQ.

"If you live in NYC, there's really nothing like a Brooklyn block party BBQ to kick off the summer," Pallin tells PEOPLE. "We bring out an eclectic group of close homies, friends, other New York artists and friends of friends – which makes up most of the good vibes. Mix that with some good food on the BBQ and some classic summer jams, and you have yourself a proper Brooklyn block party."

So what inspires their own music, and the types of songs they like to play at parties? Turns out that Janet Jackson, Robyn and a lot of house and hip-hop from the '90s to the '00s are big influences.

A song on their playlist they're particularly excited for people to hear is their own tune called "Blue Hawaii," which Silverman says they'll be spinning a lot this weekend.

"It feels like the perfect summer jam that blends house and hip-hop," she says. "We have this crazy video for it we are about to finish, so definitely keep your eyes out for it very soon."

The duo hit the road with The Knocks (who have also been featured in our playlists) starting in New York next month. Check out ASTR's Memorial Day playlist below:
