Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas
After taking a break last summer to work on their marriage
, Michael Douglas
says he and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones
are "doing great."
"We're very close and everything is going great," he told Gayle King
in an interview for Entertainment Tonight
to promote his new movie And So It Goes
One lesson Douglas said he has learned: "You don't take love for granted."
"Sometimes we spend more efforts with people that are strangers in terms of making an impression than the person that's closest to us," he said. "And you just gotta remember not to take for granted that person that's closest to you."
In recent weeks, the couple, who've been married for more than 13 years and have two children together, have shared the red carpet together
and have been spotted out on dinner dates.
Last weekend, the couple celebrated their son Dylan's bar mitzvah. Douglas apparently had a little too much fun, telling the New York Post
's Page Six at an event for producer Jerry Bruckheimer that he had injured his groin.
"I'm hurting," he said. "I got carried away at my son's bar mitzvah this weekend. You know they put you up in the chairs over the top, I think something happened there."
