Moms are the best. And dads trying to be moms might be even better.

Motherhood was a big theme in the PEOPLE stories that really grabbed readers' attention this week – whether it was a brave Canadian mom defending herself from ridicule, or a Mr. Mom in California opening himself up to it.

For good measure, we also had a celebrity mom who got readers riled up with a racy Instagram pic.

Below, check out the five stories that got the strongest reactions on PEOPLE.com this week. And let us know what you think of every story by clicking on the icons at the bottom.

Love Motherhood can take a physical toll on your body. And one Canadian mom of five won raves this week for standing up for herself after being ridiculed for her stretch marks while wearing a bikini to the beach. Check out excerpts from Tanis Jex-Blake's wonderful open letter on Facebook.

Wow Don and Maxine Simpson of Bakersfield, California, were married for 62 years. After they both fell ill this summer, their granddaughters moved their beds into the same room in the family home, where they held hands and talked about their lives. It's what happened next that was truly incredible.

Angry Kim Kardashian often gives out memorable presents to friends. But her gift to Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci this week – it certainly was racy – earned lots of disapproving clicks from PEOPLE readers.

Sad The saddest news of the week involved a celebrity couple – an NFL player-turned-TV host and his VH1 star fiancée – calling off their engagement after five years. Click to see who blamed their end on "distance and work schedule."

LOL Meghan Sylvester of Austin, Texas, didn't want to take maternity photos during her pregnancy. So her husband, Justin, took matters into his own hands. The result? Some pretty hilarious photos you have to see to believe.

Check back again next week for another must-read roundup. Until then, see what readers are reacting to every day by clicking here.
