Nicole Richie is taking full credit for playing matchmaker between Cameron Diaz and brother-in-law Benji Madden.

"I'm going to take responsibility for everything!" she joked on Watch What Happens Live Tuesday when host Andy Cohen asked if she was the one behind the blossoming relationship.

The House of Harlow 1960 designer, rocking blue hair, discussed the romance between the Sex Tape actress, 41, and Good Charlotte guitarist, 35, when a viewer asked if she had been on a double date with the couple and whether she approved of the relationship.

"I approve of anything that's going to make Benj happy," said Richie, 32, who is married to and has two children – Harlow, 6 ½, and Sparrow, 4½ – with Madden's twin brother, Joel. "I am a devoted sister-in-law."

Continued Richie, whose new VH1 show Candidly Nicole debuts July 17, "I'm happy for anyone who is happy, and I want everyone to be surrounded with love."

That certainly seems to be the case for Diaz.

A source close to the actress, who recently revealed that she would not be having children, told PEOPLE in June that "with Benji it's about being happy and taking things as they come."
