The daughter of Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin is being forced to move her travel trailer off the grounds of the governor's taxpayer-funded mansion after it was discovered that the living arrangement violates a state code.

Fallin said that she was trying to take care of her family when she allowed her 28-year-old daughter Christina to park her trailer on the governor's mansion property, according to KFOR.

"I love my family. My daughter's terrific … if she says, 'Hey, mom, I need some help,' I'm not going to turn her down," Fallin told the station.

Fallin revealed to The Oklahoman on Sunday that Christina has been living in a trailer on the property since April while she looks for permanent housing.

The information sparked public concern, with some questioning whether Christina's utility bills were being paid with taxpayer money. Fallin downplayed such talk, telling KFOR that although the trailer is hooked up to the mansion's water and electricity, Christina is not using state resources.

"She would be using that electricity if she lived in the house, or if she got a drink of water out of the faucet, or if she flushed a toilet in the house," she said.

Although the trailer is exempt from city code, it is in violation of a state code. According to KFOR, the Capitol-Medical Center Improvement Zoning Commission states that a trailer cannot be kept on certain state property – including the mansion.

"It never dawned on me that a mansion, a governor's mansion, might be on a Capitol medical zone, so we're going to remove the trailer by this Sunday and she's going to make other living arrangements," the governor told KFOR.

A spokesman for Fallin told Yahoo! News that Christina has been invited to move into the mansion with Fallin's adult son and her husband's son who lives in a garage apartment on the property.
