Oprah Winfrey is ready to put her newfound love for exercise to the test this summer.

The lifestyle guru is embracing the season and planning on working out in fresh air.

"Love is not a word I'd ever use to describe exercise," Winfrey says in this exclusive look at the June issue of O magazine. "But I know for sure: Reaping health benefits while doing something deeply pleasurable is a true thrill. So thrilling that I've now decided to haul out my bike, dust off my helmet, and see how far I can go."

Part of her excitement comes from finding confidence in her body.



"I'm ready for the open road," she says. "New experiences. A new way of being in my body. Feeling fit and strong."

To fully commit to her plan, Winfrey is promising to log 10,000 steps a day in the coming months.

"Sky, mountains, creeks, trees, grass, wildflowers – I just can't seem to get enough," she says. "So I made a vow this summer to log my 10,000 steps each day and get outdoors to do it."

"What a difference! I've been freed from the treadmill (literally) of exercising and released into a whole new experience of enjoying moving."

Winfrey has spent the last nine months working on living healthier through Weight Watchers, and announced in January that she's lost 26 lbs. so far.

"This is the joy for me," she explains. "I love bread. I love bread. I now just manage it, so I don't deny myself bread, I have bread every day."

"That's the genius of this program. I've lost 26 pounds and I have eaten bread every single day."
