A pastor was non-fatally shot outside an Idaho church on Sunday afternoon – less than 24 hours after delivering the invocation during a campaign rally for Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz.

PEOPLE learns from the Coeur d'Alene police that Tim Remington, 55, a senior pastor at a nondenominational church, remains in stable condition following Sunday's shooting.

Investigators have identified a suspect in Sunday's shooting and are on the lookout for Kyle Andrew Odom, who is still at large.

Police tell PEOPLE the alleged 30-year-old gunman fled the scene in a 2004 Honda Accord.

Police have not determined a possible motive for Sunday's violence.

The pastor was struck multiple times during Sunday's shooting, police say. He is married and has three children, according to detectives.

Police ask that anyone who comes into contact with Odom refrain from engaging him, as he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Instead, investigators want the public to call 911 with any information about Odom's whereabouts.
