The spokeswoman describes the backyard cookout shootings as "an ambush-style attack." Authorities believe the shooting was done by two people and say there are no suspects in the case yet, the spokeswoman says.
Earlier in the day, Zappala told reporters, "The murders were planned, calculated, brutal."

He said police believe there were one or two intended targets, and that a relative of the victims might have been a target. Officials are not sure about motives, but drugs or retaliation are possible, Zappala said.
According to Allegheny County's Medical Examiner, three of the five people killed by a pair of gunmen Wednesday evening were siblings, one of whom was pregnant.
A statement from the medical examiner identifies the five victims fatally shot in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, as 35-year-old Jerry Shelton and his two sisters, 25-year-old Chanetta Powell and her 27-year-old sister Brittany Powell, who was pregnant. The other victims were Tina Shelton, 37, and Shada Mahone, 26.
Two other victims remain in area hospitals and are listed in critical condition. A third woman was treated and released, officials confirm.
