It seems like Robin Thicke went from having the best year of his life to his absolute worst.

Following the massive success of his hit "Blurred Lines" in 2013, which went to number one in more than 100 countries, his wife Paula Patton left him amidst his alleged infidelities.

Now he's caught up in a legal battle with the family of Marvin Gaye, who claim he ripped off the beat for "Blurred Lines" from Gaye's song, "Got to Give It Up." And on Monday, court documents revealed that Thicke has also been battling a problem with drugs and alcohol.

In the deposition that went public Monday, the singer, 37, admitted that he "didn't do a sober interview" while promoting "Blurred Lines" – which would have included a chat he had with Oprah last October.

"I was high and drunk every time I did an interview last year," he said. "So there are some quotes I don't remember saying."

Thicke admitted that before talking to Oprah, he took a norco, which he described as "like two Vicodin in one pill." He added that, per his routine at the time, he had a bottle on hand that was filled with vodka instead of water. (In the deposition, Thicke admitted that while he's now off the Vicodin, he is still drinking.)

Thicke's attorney, Howard King, released a statement on behalf of the singer Monday, slamming the leak of the private court documents and blaming Gaye's family for their release.

"Robin's moment of personal vulnerability is being exploited in the hope of diverting attention from the obvious weakness of their legal claim," the statement says.
