Country singer Joey Feek has been living proof of that throughout her battle with terminal cancer, and she's showing the world again how much her daughter lifts her spirit.
Joey's husband, Rory Feek, shared an update via his blog on Thursday, capturing the magic of the connection between Joey and the couple's 22-month-old daughter, Indiana.
"I don't know where Indy gets her personality from," the singer-songwriter, 49, wrote. "Joey says it’s from me. I’m not sure I believe her. But no matter ... one thing is for sure, our little one has one of the most expressive little faces I’ve ever seen."
Rory was inspired to share the sweet moment after the trio bonded. "I sat Indy on Joey's bed so she could spend a few minutes with her mama," explained Rory. "Joey had had some tough days and the decline of her condition was weighing heavy on her and all of our minds."
Rory continued: "But in a matter of minutes, Indy had her mama laughing out loud ..."

Rory's moving anecdote comes to life in touching photos of Indiana, who giggles while looking into her mother's eyes.
Joey, who is half of singing duo Joey + Rory, underwent multiple surgeries – including a hysterectomy – and chemotherapy and radiation treatment after her May 2014 diagnosis. She is now under hospice care.
Last year the Feeks relocated to her hometown of Alexandria, Indiana, where she's chosen to live out her final days surrounded by family and friends. The decision came just a month after she announced she would no longer be undergoing treatment.
"Joey is at peace with where she is and where she's going," Rory wrote in a blog update in November. "So am I."
